Twenty six CIMMYT developed normal and QPM three way crosses hybrids along with two local checks BHM 5 (QPM) and BHM 7 were assessed genotype environment interaction (GEI) and stability for days to tasseling, days to silking, days to maturity, plant height, ear height and grain yield at five locations of Bangladesh during rabi 2009-10.The AMMI model (additive main effects and multiplicative interaction) was used to assess the additive and multiplicative effects of the interaction. Significant variation for genotypes (G), environment (E) and GEI were found for all the characters. The environment Chittagong, Jamalpur and Gazipur are poor and Jessore and Barishal are rich environments for hybrid maize production. Considering the mean, bi and S2di three parameters, it was evident that all the genotypes showed different response of adaptability under different environmental conditions. Among the hybrids E2, E9, E6 and E10 exhibited higher grain yield, bi~1 and S2di~0 indicated that the hybrids are stable across the environment. Considering the yield potentiality and stability parameter four hybrids were found promising across locations.

Variety and Species
To test the performance of CIMMYT developed hybrids, under different agro-ecological zones of Bangladesh and select better one(s).
The experiment was conducted at Joydebpur, Hathazari, Jamalpur, Rahmatpur and Jessore during rabi 2009-10. Twenty six CIMMYT developed normal and QPM three way crosses hybrids and two local checks namely BHM 5 (QPM) and BHM 7 were evaluated at this study. Experimental seeds were sown at Joydebpur on 04 November, Hathazari on 11 November, Jamalpur on 19 November, Rahmatpur on 25 November and Jessore on 02 December 2009. Experimental design was alpha lattice with three replications. The unit plot size was maintained at 5.0 × 1.5m. Spacing was 75 × 20cm between row to row and hill to hill, respectively
