Performance of different potato varieties (23 varieties including two checks Diamant and Cardinal) was assessed to post harvest rottage at Joydebpur under natural conditions. The percentage of tuber rot due to disease was increased with the increase of time. The tubers rot losses was nil in the varieties of Romeo, Necter, Kufre Pokhraj, Atlas, Santana and Kufre Joyoti up to 30 days and the varieties of Leonardo, Evora, Volumia, Alaska, Safrana, LB-6 and Vivaldi up to 60 days storage. The variety namely Evora performed better, because it was completely free from rottage up to 60 days and showed minimum rottage by 4.17% at 90 days of storage. Though some varieties were free from rottage up to 60 days, but they provived higher infection at 90 days of storage. On the other hand, the highest rottage tuber was observed in the variety Necter by 91.95% followed by Kufri Joyoti (55.56%), Universa (53.44%), Metro (52.54%), Kufri Pokhraj (52.22%) after 90 days of storage.

To evaluate the performance of different potato varieties against post harvest diseases under natural conditions at Joydebpur.
A study was conducted on the performance of newly introduced potato varieties to post harvest rottage under natural conditions. In natural condition, twenty three potato varieties/ clones including two checks Diamant and Cardinal were preserved in the processing shed in netted wooden rake under ambient temperature at TCRC, Joydebpur. Each Variety contained 15 tubers with different sizes. Data were recorded based on tuber rottage due to diseases (soft rot, dry rot) up to 90 DAS (days after storage).
