Studies were made to determine the effect of piling on deterioration of strength of jut fibers. Thus bundle strength of top, middle and bottom portion of all samples were measured after 24 hours and 48 hours of piling respectively. It is observed that the effect of pilling of deteriorated of strength is higher in case of BTSpl. and lower in BWE.

To determine the optimum piling condition for different grades of jute fiber.

Samples were collected from the Experimental Spinning Mill and BJRI (Agriculture). There was no scope of selecting the samples collected from Experimental Spinning Mill as it was collected from their running batch composition. All these varieties of jute were than divided into several parts for determining their bundle strength and bursting energy before and after piling. Bundle strength was done with the help of Pressley bundle strength tester.

It is found from the observation that in each case of fibre strength was deteriorated after being piling. It is observed that the effect of piling of deteriorated of strength is higher in case of BTSpl. and lower in BWE. The experiment should be carried out with all the grades of jute and also on samples of different grading centre before drawing any conclusive remark.
