The existence Apron Draft Spinning Machine has been modified at BJRI laboratory by adapting ring and Traveller at its delivery end. Fine jute yarn between 60-150 tex can be spun through the modified system with higher productivity and acceptable textile properties. The conventional Apron Draft Spinning machine cannot produce yarn below 150 tex. the different machine components were changed for this modification. in this experiment the different machine parameters were optimized through a series of experiment. So, yarn producer can produce yarn by modifying this machine as well as using optimized machine parameters. Through the study of Spindle speed, draft, twist, ring size, and traveler size were optimized. But optimization of different parameters are varies with variation of linear density of produced yarn. In this experiment optimization were done for 100 tex jute yarn. By using this information the jute mills of Bangladesh can be able to produce fine count jute yarn. The produce yarn will be used in decorative and fine fabrics.

i) To optimize the machine parameters (such as twist change pinion for required twist, draft change pinion for optimum draft, traveller size, ring size, spindle speed etc.)
ii) To analyze quality of the produced yarn for acceptable properties.
iii) Application of the proposed technology is an experimental scale in the jute mills toward commercialization.
In this experiment existing Apron Draft Spinning machine of 8 spindles has been changed by introducing ring and travellers instead of flyer. An M.S. roller of diameter 5.5inches were added at the back side of the machine for transmission of power from motor to the spindle. Rings of different diameters, traveller of various size and spindle speed from 6000-9000 rpm were introduce. Jute yarns were produced by applying various machine parameters. Finally all parameters of the machine was analyzed and optimized based on the quality of yarn and production efficiency of the experimental machine.

The different machine parameters were made on the basis of 100 tex fine jute yarn. The machine was run for different draft and it was found that maximum production was achieved for draft 20. The optimum draft of the modified machine is 16-20 for production of fine jute yarn. For 100 tex jute yarn optimum inserted twist, spindle speed, diameter of ring size and traveller size are 9 TPI, 8000rpm, 78mm and No. 1 respectively.
