The jute fibers (0-9897) of different ages were collected from BJRI experiment field. Physical properties of the collected fibers were determined. Different types (6.87 to 7.64 counts) of hessian jute yarns are produced successfully on treating the fibres with emulsion having much lower in concentration (60%). It is found that the increase of growth age the quality ratio is increases at the same concentration of batching emulsion.It is found that with the increase of fiber growth age, the quality ratio is increasing at the same concentration of batching oil. On using 100% batching oil the 120 days aged fibers shows the heights value of quality ratio in contrast to the fibers of 75, 90 and 105 days aged and as well as the tensile strength.

To obtain ways of fine spinning of jute fibers having improved physic o-chemical properties.

Sample collection: The 0-9897 variety of jute fibers of ages 75, 90, 105 & 120 days (10 months of each age) were collected from BJRI experimental field. Determination of physical properties: (a) Count (lbs/spy), tensile strength (mg/lb) and quality ratio (%) of the spun yarns were determined by standard testing methods. Spinning trials: The collected sample of the jute fiber 0-9897 was brought in BJRI experimental mill for spinning in the hessian spinning unit frame. (b) Hessian spinning frame: Some hessian spinning trials are given. As a result 4 kinds of yarns (6.87 to 7.64 Counts) have been produced very successfully till today. In all the trails each batch fibers of the collected sample were kept in dark (48 hours) for piling maturation with spraying of 20% emulsion prepared. The emulsions used are 60% and 100% in concentration. The conventionally used emulsion is a solution consisting of J.B.O-19.7%, nonidet-0.3% & water 80%.

The study was mainly on the better performance of yarns made of different ages of jute fibers using batching oil of lowering in concentration. Accordingly the physical properties like count (lbs/spy), tensile strength (mg/lb) and quality ratio (%) etc of jute fiber (0-9897) of age 75, 90, 105 were determined in comparison with 120 days aged fibre and are discussed follow . It is found that with the increase of fiber growth age, the quality ratio is increasing at the same concentration of batching oil. On using 100% batching oil the 120 days aged fibers shows the heights value of quality ratio in contrast to the fibers of 75, 90 and 105 days aged and as well as the tensile strength. So, more number of spinning trails are requiring for the assessment of actual concentration of the emulsion is to be used. The work is in progress.
