The study was conducted at BRRI, Gazipur. Objective of this study was to select desirable progenies with emphasis on earliness,high yield potential, semi dwarf plant type and resistance to drought at field condition. Progenies of 34 crosses were grown as bulk population depending on the quantity of seeds. Desirable plants were selected from 18 crosses from F3 population and bulk selection method was followed. A total of 403 individual plants were selected from F4 and F5 generations following pedigree method.

To select desirable progenies with emphasis on earliness, high yield potential, semi dwarf plant type and resistance to drought at field condition.

The study was conducted at BRRI, Gazipur. Progenies of 34 crosses (18 F3 and 16 F4 generations) were grown as bulk population depending on the quantity of seeds. Four hundred sixty progeny rows of F4, F5 and F6 generations were grown following pedigree method. Seeds of each line grown in a 5.0 m row with 25 cm spacing. Fertilizer does was the same as in experiment 5.3. Weeding was done two to three during the period of early seedling to maximum tillering stages.

Desirable plants were selected from 18 crosses from F3 population and bulk selection method was followed. A total of 403 individual plants were selected from F4 and F5 generations following pedigree method. Further more, 67 fixed lines were isolated from F5 and F6 generations.
