Secondary Yield Trial (syt) of New Developed Lines.

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The study was conducted at BRRI, Gazipur. Objective of this study was to secondary yield evaluation of promising materials in replicated trail. Twelve genotypes including two standard checks were evaluated under this experiment. Three entries were selected on the basis of grain yield. BR6028-34-3-2-1-HR1 took 113 days to mature and yielded the highest (5.3 t/ha).

Objectives:

Secondary yield evaluation of promising materials in replicated trail.

Methodology:

The study was conducted at BRRI, Gazipur. Twelve genotypes including two standard checks were evaluated under this experiment.Twenty-five day old seedlings were transplanted @ 2-3 seedlings in a 5.4m x 12 rows plot with the spacing of 20 x 15 cm. The field layout was RCB design with three replications. Fertilizer at the rates of 60:40:40:10 kg NPKS/ha with all amount of P,K,and S were applied at the time of final land preparation. Nitrogen was applied in 2 equal splits at 10 & 30 days after transplanting. Data on growth duration, date of seeding, transplanting, flowering, maturity; phenotype acceptance, seedling height, plant height, lodging tolerance and yield (t/ha) were recorded.

Achievement/Findings:

Out of 10, 3 entries were selected on the basis of grain yield. BR6028-34-3-2-1-HR1 took 113 days to mature and yielded the highest (5.3 t/ha). Selected entries were again tested in different regional stations as RYT in the T.Aus season for determining the general and specific adaptability.
