Assessment of Jute Seed Quality of Different Varieties Produced in Different Regional and Sub-stations of BJRI

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

Seeds were collected after harvest of seeds crop.In this year we collected a total number of 66 representative seed samples were collected from Potuakhali, Chandina, Kishoreganj, Faridpur, Dinajpur, Tarabo, Monirampur and Rangpur station. The percentage of moisture, germination and dead seed were recorded. It was tested by ISTA procedure. It was observed that the quality parameters of jute seeds collected from different regional and sub-stations were good in respect of germination but the seeds of mesta were very sensitive and possessing very poor germination.

Objectives:
