Moisture Relationship of Jute and Jute Products and Study of Optimum Environmental Conditions for Production of Jute and Jute Blended.

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

Moisture relationship of jute and jute products and the environmental conditions for production of jute and jute blended were studied. From the data the regain values at different R.H. were comparatively low than the values so far available for the corresponding relative humidity. Initially both the rate of drying and rate of picking up moisture were high and then both the rates gradually decrease with the increase of time.

Objectives:

To find out the moisture relationship of random jute of optimum environmental conditions.

Methodology:

The samples of raw jute were collected at random and kept in the room of physics department. At the time of starting experiment at first the relative humidity of the room was determined with the help of a whirling hygrometer and also room temp. was recorded. Then 100 gms from the collected sample was heated to about 11⁰C using the conditioning oven. The percentage regain of the above sample was found out.

Achievement/Findings:

It was seen from the data the regain values at different R.H. were comparatively low than the values so far available for the corresponding relative humidity. Initially both the rate of drying and rate of picking up moisture were high and then both the rates gradually decrease with the increase of time. The results of moisture regain would be useful to know the degree of humidification/dehumidification necessary to maintain processing efficiency and to improve it.
