Reduction Batch Cost for the Production of Hessian and Sacking by Optimum Utilization of Fibre Properties.

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

A Batch composition is the composition of different utilization of jute in different proportion for the production of jute goods as per standard or consumers specification. At least five of our mill trials ended in failure due to various difficulties, trouble e.g. load shedding, labor trouble, inability of mill authority to spare machine at the proper time. The results may be helpful to reduce the cost of batch in the mill.

Objectives:

To reduce the cost of production of jute goods, and make it more competitive and may mean the difference between profit and loss for the industry.

Methodology:

Batch composition is the composition of different utilization of jute in different proportion for the production of jute goods as per standard or consumers specification. Batch composition as used for the mill trials: 1. Long jute from S.M.R 63% Cutting from S.M.R 36% 2. Long jute from white X-bottom 55% Cutting from white X-bottom 45% 3. Long jute from S.M.R 27% Long jute from white X-bottom 30% Cutting from S.M.R And white X-Bottom 43% A Batch composition for Hessian warp and sacking warp as being used by Karim Jute Mills Ltd. are given below for composition. Hassian warp Sacking warp BWD = 20% BWD = 30% T-X Bottom = 30% WX-Bottom = 40% W- X = 40% WC-Bottom = 10% N-C = 10% S.M.R. = 20% S.M.R. = 20% Emulsion application was 35% and percentage of JBO on the basis of weight cuttings 7%. For long jute these were emulsion application 25% and percentage of JBO on the basis of weight cuttings 5%.

Achievement/Findings:

Unfortunately except for SL. No. 5 in the data other trials ended in failure because of piling of cuttings for longer periods (about 9-11 days) contrary to our instructions. So nothing works in proper arrangement to come to the conclusion. The results may be helpful to reduce the cost of batch in the mill.
