A study on survey and documentation of insect pests of strawberry was conducted in the experimental field of Pomology division, Horticulture Research Center, BARI, Gazipur during the period from October 2009 to March 2010. Chaffer beetle, leaf roller, white fly, mites, aphid, semi-looper, red ants, spodoptera, hairy caterpillar and mealy bug etc attacked the strawberry and their severity varied at different period and growth stage of crop. Considering damage severity and abundance of different insect pests recorded in strawberry, it was revealed that mites and chaffer beetles were the most serious pests of strawberry.

To document the insect pests of strawberry and their damage severity.

The experiment was conducted in the experimental field of Pomology division, Horticulture Research Center, BARI, Gazipur during the period from October 2009 to March 2010. Data on incidence and intensity of pests were recorded by using absolute method ie. visual searching and counting of insect species. The population dynamics of insect pests were recorded from randomly selected plot at 15 days interval during whole cropping season. The numbers of insect pests as well as infested plants, leaves and fruits were counted. Then data on different parameters were calculated for monthly incidence and intensity of pest population.

Mites and chaffer beetles are the most serious pests and limiting factors for successful strawberry cultivation.
