In the project general studies on assessment of spinning quality and measurement of bursting energy were studied. Samples were collected from Mrs. Rashida Islam, PSO Bio-chemistry department hence there was no scope of selecting bales quality. From the observation it was found that the yarn having higher bursting energy have yielded the yarn of higher quality ratio. But in the case of BWspl, it was observed to write that the yarn of 8 lbs have yield the yarn of quality ratio 148.02% but in the case of 10 lbs have yielded the yarn having the quality ratio 130.76% which was quit abnormal.

To predict the strength of jute yarn from the physical properties of the fibers from which the yarn is spun and to relate to commercial grading.
The sample jute was sent by Mrs. Rashida Islam, PSO Bio-chemistry department hence there was no scope of selecting bales quality. Only a small quantity was sent by her. Hence from the sent quantity divided the jute two parts from which one part was for finers perposes and the rest one was used for bursting energy and bundle strength. From the samples 250 reeds were taken for this project and the reading were taken randomly from reed to reed.
Collection of sample for BTE and BWspl and bundles of reeds were taken from all these groups and mixed together to make a sample of about 45 lbs which was then divided into three approximately equal parts of about 15 lbs. Bursting energy was determined with the apparatus designed by BSTRA for this purpose. Two feet long lengths were at first taken from cut ends of the reeds of these lengths. A hammer raised to a definite height struck the region of the specimen lying between the bollards and the amount of work absorbed in breaking the specimen, read from a circular scale.
Annual Technical Report 1981
The results of the experiment have been produced with giving any relationship with the quality ratio. Because due to non-availability sufficiency in sample no quality ratio was determined.
For BTE and BWspl, quality ratio was determined. The yarn was spin from our experimental mill. Hence our experimental mill should take more and more care in preparing any kinds of yarn.
