Objective of this study was to initial yield evaluation and selection of desirable lines of rice. In total, 31 genotypes were evaluated in two trails (PYT#1, PYT#2) against the standard checks BRRI dhan30, BRRI dhan31, BRRI dhan32, BRRI dhan39 at the Gazipur. Three materials (BR4970-2-5-2, Br6394-16-6-1 and BR6600-8-2) were selected for tidal wetland condition because of their tall stature with stiff stem.

In total, 31 genotypes were evaluated in two trails (PYT#1, PYT#2) against the standard checks BRRI dhan30, BRRI dhan31, BRRI dhan32, BRRI dhan39 at the Gazipur. Thirty-day-old seedlings were transplanted @ 2-3 seedlings with a spacing of 25 x 15 cm in a 5.4m x 8 rows plot.The field layout was RCB design with two replication. Fertilizers were applied at the rates of 80:60:40:20:5 kg NPKSZN/ha with all amounts of P,K,S &Zn at the time of final land preparation. Nitrogen was applied in three equal splits at 10,30 & 50 days after transplanting.

None was found superior to standard check from PYT-1 in terms of yield but 3 retrogression lines of IR64 (IR62037-93-1-3-1-1,IR70161-53-1-1-2 and IR 70849-56-B-B-1-HR1) two MT lines (MT3 and MTL 250) from Vietnam were selected as parent for earliness. From PYT-2 three materials (BR4970-2-5-2, Br6394-16-6-1 and BR6600-8-2) were selected for tidal wetland condition because of their tall stature with stiff stem.
