Comparative Study of Varieties/accessions of Jute Due to Leaf Mosaic Under Field Condition

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The highest BD 24.33mm was recorded from healthy plant of CVL-1 at JAES and the lowest BD 20.08mm was recorded from CC-45 at Kishoreganj.In case of diseased plants,the highest BD 19.99 mm was recorded in CVL-1 at JAES,followed by the same variety 19.42mm at Kishoreganj and lowest one 11.93 mm was recorded in 2142 at JAES. For PH, incase of healthy plants,the highest PH 415.67cm was recorded from CVL-1 at Kishoreganj and the lowest 300cm was recorded in BJC-83 at JAES. In case of diseased plants, the highest PH 360cm in CVL-1 at Kishoreganj and the lowest237.70cm was recorded in 2142 at JAES.The highest fibre weight 228gm and lowest fibre weight 135g was recorded in CVL-1 at JAES and in CC-45 at Kishoreganj representing the healthy plants.In case of Diseased plants, the highest 155g and lowest 83.33g was recorded in CVL-1 and CC-45 at Kishoreganj.The highest 400g and lowest 283.30g stick weight was recorded in CVL-1 and CC-45 at Kishoreganj and JAES.

Objectives:

To comparative study for different yield parameters as affected leaf mosaic disease of jute

Methodology:

The varieties were CVL-1, CC-45, CVE-3, BJC-2142,BJC-83 and advanced line 2197, Two sets of experiments were conducted at 2 locations namely, JAES, manikganj and Kishoreganj following RCBD with three replications .Data on yield parameter viz. Base diameter(BD), Plant height(PH), Fibre weight (FW) and Stick weight representing of 10 healthy plants and 10 diseased plants were collected from each plot of each locations and analysed for comparison.

Achievement/Findings:

Leaf mosaic cause the deterioration of yield regarding different yield parameters and variety CC-45 more vulnerable to leaf mosaic than other Capsularis varieties. Effect of leaf mosaic on different yield parameters varies location to location. it is also mentionable that all the olitorius varieties were found free from leaf mosaic at both the locations.
