The experiment was carried out at Manikgang with F7 generation of intraspecific hybrid derivatives between fibre type high yielding but prickled varieties and smooth vegetable type and studied for different characters. The treatment was 4-34/96, L-96/96, L-80/96, L-92/96, L-88/96, L-83/96, L-78/96, L-79/96, L-134/96, L-82/96, L-87/96, L-77/96, L-71/96, L-75/96 and HS-24.  It was observed that none of the hybrid lines could out yield the control HS-24, yet the lines were very smooth and 30 days early in flowering.
