Seed Increase of Salt Tolerant Ac Lines.

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

Salt tolerant variety is very important for the saline prone areas to increase the rice yield of the country. Therefore, the objective of this study was to make available the seeds of anther culture (AC) derived alt tolerant salt tolerant lines. Double haploid plants were developed through anther culture from the crosses involving salt tolerant parents. Seeds of each AC lines were grown in 5.4 single row plot in boro season. The seeds of 27 AC lines were collected and preserved for next season.

Methodology:

This was a collaborative experiment with Dhaka University. Double haploid plants were developed through anther culture from the crosses involving salt tolerant parents. Seeds of each AC lines were grown in 5.4 single row plot in boro season. The trail was conducted in non-saline condition at Gazipur following the recommended crop management of Boro rice.
