Three days residential training on operation and maintenance of farm machinery was conducted at BRRI head office. Farmers and farm machinery operator were invited from IAPP locations. In this training 46 farmers and operator were trained up about practical operation and maintenance of farm machinery. Awareness was created among the participants about the safe operation of farm machinery. Two one-day-long training programme also conducted on the operation and maintenance of promising farm machinery in Rangpur and Kurigram district where 56 LFS farmers were trained up.

1st batch was training programme was conducted from 23 to 25 march, 2014. The trainees of 1st batch were invited from the IAPP area and the districts are Barisal, Patuakhali, Jhalokathi and Barguna. In that programme those who can operate power tiller were selected and 18 participants were joined. An inaugural session was held at the 1st day of the training programme and after that a pre-evaluation of the trainees was done. BRRI developed and  other agricultural machineries were introduced to the trainees

In order to build up trained manpower on farm machineries in the rural areas, Farm Machinery and Postharvest Technology Division of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute conducted two batch training programme at the divisional training room.  The training programme was scheduled mainly on the basis of practical skill of farm machineries that is how to operate and maintain the machineries and all the classes were taken by the employees of Farm Machinery and Postharvest Technology Division. Operation and maintenance on Rice Transplanter, Combine Harvester, BRRI Reaper, BRRI Open Drum Thresher, BRRI Closed Drum thresher, BRRI USG Applicator, BRRI Winnower and Power Tiller are trained by the trainers. After completion of the programme a post-evaluation was taken. Certificates and leaflets of farm machineries were distributed among the participants. Participants gained knowledge about the operation and maintenance procedure on rice transplanter, BRRI weeder, BRRI USG applicator, BRRI open drum thresher, BRRI closed drum thresher, BRRI winnower and also seedling raising technique for rice transplanter.
