Two experiments were carried out to investigate the best stock-scion combination for vegetative propagation of mango and guava during June. 2006 to April, 2007 to investigate the performance or the plants raised by cleft grafting for investigation or stionic relationship in respect or success, survivability and growth performance viz. clays required to bud break and first, height and diameter or rootstock and scion. and canopy volume. Two experiments were laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. In experiment I, the results revealed that the best combination or Amrapali scion onto Amrupali rootstock showed the highest graft success (91%), survivability (90.66%), height or rootstock (37.08 cm) and scion (41.02 cm). On the other hand. the lowest graft success (68%) and survivability (66%) were shown in the combination or Amrapali scion onto Fazli rootstock and the lowest height or rootstock (28.99cm) and scion (35.67 cm) in Amrapali scion onto Polyembryony rootstock. In experiment 2, BAU piara-1 (Ranga) scion onto Angur piara rootstock showed the highest grart success (62%). survivability (57%), height or rootstock (33.12 cm) and height or scion (21.33 cm) whereas Misti piara scion onto Poly piara rootstock showed the lowest graft success (42.67%). survivability (3167%), height or rootstock (2624 cm) and scion (14.25 cm).

To find out the best stock-scion combination for vegetative propagation or mango and guava.

The experiment was conducted at the BAU-GPC during 2006-2007. The experiment details as follows:

Expt. I: Success and growth performance of mango cv, Amrapali onto six different rootstocks by cleft grafting: The experiment was, conducted to investigate the performance or the plants raised by cleft grafting method or vegetative propagation, Data were recorded from the grafted plant based on the success, and survivability (%), days required to bud break and first flush. height (cm) and diameter (cm) or rootstock, height (cm) and diameter or scion (cm) and canopy volume for better understanding or the growth or each group or the plant. Data were collected from June, 2006 and continued up to April, 2007.

Treatments were- A1 = PIants raised by Amrupali rootstock + Amrapuli scion = (Ar + As) combination, A2 = Plants rased by Polyembryony rootstock + Amrapali scion= (Pr + As) combination, A3, = Plants raised by Himsagor rootstock + Amrapali scion = (Hr +As) combination, A4 = Plants raised by Gopalbhog rootstock + Amrupuli scion= (Gor+ As) combination, A5= Plants raised by Gootee rootstock + Amrapali scion = (Gtr+ As) combination, A6 = Plants raised by Fazli rootstock + Amrupali scion = (Fr+ As) combination.

Expt. 2: Success and growth performance of four varieties of guava onto three different rootstocks of guava by deft grafting: The experiment was conducted to investigate the performance or the plants raised by cleft grarfting method or vegetative propagation, The plants were produced by cleft grafting, Data were recorded lrorn the grafted plants during the period from June. 2006 to April. 2007.
