Twenty nine mutants were evaluated under five cultural environments to study their stability performance. Genotype-environment was highly significant in all the characters studied. Stability analysis suggested that most of the mutants were more or less responsive and highly sensitive (unstable) to different cultural environments. Mutant N3M-320 was most stable for seed yield, whilst mutants E2M-707, E3M-829 and N1M-134 with high seed yield were unstable under changing environments.

To evaluate the nature of GxE interactions of some elite mutant lines under culturally induced environment and to identify the 'responsive' and 'stable' genotypes.

The experiment was conducted at Magura, the sub-station field of Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture with 29 elite mutants o lentil alone with their mother (L-5). The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with four replications under each environment. Unit plot size was 2m x 2m. Spacing were 30 cm and 4 cm between rows and plants, respectively. Lentils were grown under five environmental conditions. So five artificially created cultural environments were considered in the study All the fertilizers were applied as a basal dose. Important intercultural operations, such as weeding and thinning were done according to schedule and when required to ensure  normal growth and development of plants. Ten plants were harvested randomly of each plot for recording data on different characters such as branches per plant, nodules per plant , pods per plant and yield per plot were recorded. Yield per plot was converted into yield per hectare. Nodules per plant were determined at the full stage. The genotype environments interaction and stability analysis were done

The mean sum of squares were significant indicating wide among the genotypes for all the characters. The genotype-environment in interaction mean square was also significant for all the characters. Mean square for pooled deviation (nonlinear) was significant and genotype-environment interaction (linear) was non significant suggested that performance of the genotype were entirely unpredictable in nature. Generally unpredicted component of genotype-environment interaction is of greater importance than the predictable component Considering the above three stability parameters i.e., highly mean yield, unit regression (b around 1) and the lowest deviation form the regression (ideally S2di=0), genotypes E4M-910, N41-424 and L-5 would be stable for number of pods per plant and mutant N3M-320 could be regarded as highly adapted genotypes for seed yield. The genotypes E2 M=707, E3M-828 and N31-321 were also desirable because or their higher seed yield under specific environmental condition
