Combined Analysis of a Group of Randomized Block Designs with Stable Group of Treatments

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The presence of pieces x treatments interaction indicates the unstability of the treatments over the places and it vitiates the combined analysis of a group of experiments. This difficulty obviates if the combined analysis is performed with stable group of treat mints, The selection of stable group of treatments is based on the work of James (1951) and We Ich (1951).

Objectives:

To select the treatments varieties which are better and stable in respect of some economic character.

Methodology:

The selection of stable group of treatments obviates this difficulty. The selection is based on the work of James (1951) and Welch (1951). With the- stable treatments combined test is pro- posed, This combined test provides exact test on treatment parameters. Different methods and works are done to verify the objective. The following are the main feature of the study- Selection of stable group of treatments ; Analysis with stable treatments ; Combined analysis with stable group of treatments etc.

Achievement/Findings:

This indicate that the variety effect is significant over the places. From the individual analysis with stable group of varieties it is found that the variety effects are significant at Munshiqanq, Pabna, Bogra. and Feni. But insignificant variety effects observed through weighted analysis and significant results through combined X² test. So it is inferred that weighted analysis does not predict the real effect of varieties. Thus combined X² test gives an exact test of the variety effects.
