Abstract/ Executive Summary:

Bangladesh Jute Research Institute has developed several techniques of jute ribboning like; firstly bamboo hook method, single roller ribboner & secondly double roller ribboner to overcome the scarcity of retting water. But the manually used of bamboo hook and double roller ribboner require more manpower at a time. These techniques are more labour and time consuming at a time. Scientists of BJRI and BRRI have developed a new Power jute Ribboner through collaborate research for ribboning the bark from the jute plants. In Jute Ribboner method needs 15 labours but in Power Jute ribboner method needs 11 labours from jute harvesting to washing, drying and weighting for one bigha jute plants. It is seen that four labours are less need in Power Jute ribboner method than Jute Ribboner method
