The present piece of research work was conducted at MS Laboratory and Field Laboratory of the Department of Plant Pathology and Seed technology Centre, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymengsingh-2202, during the period from January 2008 to January 2009 to monitor the disease incidence of soybean. Incidence of different disease viz. Leaf spot, Blight, Wilting, Anthracnose, Leaf curl, Canker, Collar spot  and Damping off were recorded at BAU campus. Association of different seed borne pathogens viz. Curvularia lunata, Alternaria spp., Macrophomina Spp., Aspergillus spp.,Rhizopus stolonifer, Cercospora kikuchii, Fusariumspp., and Colletotricum truncatum were recorded. Germination of seed from different treatments showed significant variation. The seeds collected from treatment-1, (BAU-Biofuncicide as seed treatment) gave maximum germination (75.00%) and also resulted maximum number of healthy seedlings (55.00%) and minimum number of diseased seedlings (50.00%).  The seeds collected from control treatment resulted in poorest germination (30.00%) and highest diseased seedlings (64.00%). In this study among the five treatments (Seed treatment with BAU-Biofuncigicide, Bavistine spray(0.1%), BAU-Biofungicide spray (2%), Amster spray(0.5%) and Control ) BAU Biofungicide treated  seeds performed higher germination and lower severity of seedlings disease. As spray in the field, Bavistine followed by BAU Biofungicide and Amister found superior.

To monitor diseases of soybean occurring in the field of BAU campus.

The experiment was conducted in the field laboratory of Department of Plant Pathology, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh during January 2008 to January 2009. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications. The treatments were: T0=Control, T1=Seed treatment with BAU-Biofungicide, T2=Bavistin spray (0.1%), T3=BAU-Biofungicide spray (2%), T4=Amister spray (0.5%). Amistar and Bavistin  was applied with 3 sprays at the rate of 0.1%  and BAU-Biofungicide was sprayed @ 2% with 3 times at 12 days intervals. To record the severity of anthracnose disease in the experimental plots, 3 times regular inspection of the plots was made at 15 days interval starting from 60 days after sowing (DAS). Twenty plants from each unit plot were selected randomly and number of symptom bearing plants from the total plants were recorded each time. When the plant attained 80% maturity, data for anthracnose was recorded following the grade of Fakir (1990). The plants were harvested at the physiological maturity stage at the 12th May 2008. Data were recorded on the following parameters: germination (%), seedling infection, pod infection, number of soybean mosaic virus (SoyMV) infected plants, number of soybean dwarf virus infected plants. The collected data on different parameters were compiled and analyzed per sample statistically to find out the statistical significance of the experimental results using analysis of variance. The mean differences were evaluated by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (Gomez and Gomez, 1984) and also by least significance difference (LSD) test.

The pathogens were Aspergillus flavus, A. niger, Alternaria spp., Macrophomina spp., Rhizopus stolonifer, Fusarium spp., Colletotrichum truncatum, Cercospora kikuchii and Bacteria. The prevalence of these pathogens was high in all categories of seed of treatment-0 and low in treatment-1. Wrinkled and spotted seeds of treatment-4 showed higher severity of seed borne pathogens and lower severity in treatment-1. In this study among the five treatmrnts BAU-biofungicides seed treatment performed higher germination, lower no of lower incidence of diseases. As spray in the field , Bavistin  followed by BAU-Biofungicide  and Amister found superior .In the control treatment number of germination of seeds were very low and higher percentage of disease severity. As per environment concern, BAU Biofungicide may be recommended for management of soybean diseases in the field.

From the above study it was concluded that seed germination and disease incidence in the field high when the amount of seed borne inocula was high in the seed lot used as seeding material. Other parameter such as seedling disease incidence was also influenced by seed borne pathogens. Association of seed borne mycoflora population had low incidence when healthy seeds were sown which were treated with BAU-biofungicide. Therefore, the seeds should be cleaned and kept diseased free and seeds should be treated before used.
