In Bangladesh, a large number of cattle, goats and chicken are died by different kinds of infectious and noninfectious diseases every year. But this mortality rate of both poultry birds and cattle could be reduced through vaccination. Presently, vaccination facilities are available at Upazila level but farmers are not aware of it. Therefore, this program was undertaken at FSR&D site, Moison, Kapasia under Gazipur district to show the farmers positive effect of vaccination towards mortality rates of poultry birds and cattle and also to create awareness of the farmers towards adoption of vaccination. There was no mortality in vaccinated goats and cow. However, the mortality of vaccinated chicken was 5%. This due to unhygienic dwelling. Now it can be said, vaccination could help to reduce mortality rate of livestock resources.

To create awareness of the farmers towards adoption of vaccination.

The program was executed at FSR&D site, Moison block under Kapasia Upazila in collaboration with upazila livestock office during 2012-2013. Total 71 chickens were vaccinated with RDV (Ranikhat Disease Vaccine), 9 goats were vaccinated with PPR (Pasti de Patis Ruminants) and 18 Cows were vaccinated with Anthrax and foot and mouth disease vixen. The mortality rate of the vaccinated goat, cow and chicken were monitored and recorded.
