Forty-six rice genotypes of Aus season viz. Nayan tara (acc. 654), Begunbitchi (acc. 1202), Benaful (acc. 1529), Panock (acc. 1641), Langra beni (acc. 1645), Dal kaisha (acc. 564), Garia (acc. 569), Marik madhu (acc. 572), Shoni (acc. 575), Porangi (7) (acc. 1216), Paik juta (acc. 1528), Hasha (acc. 1534), Batnuri (acc. 1550), Chiknal (acc. 1642), Parangi (acc. 1689), Haitai saeta (acc. 1691), Holat (acc. 1556), Mory saita (acc. 1626), Ajabbeti (acc. 1546), Rang mahal (acc. 1629), Lakhi jhota (acc. 1630), Katar (acc. 1632), Bolium (acc. 1205), Laxmi lota (acc. 1211), Pankhiraj (acc. 1700), Noroi (4) (acc. 1210), Kamini sail (acc. 1662), Baismagur (acc. 1696), Sribalium (acc. 1699), Saita (acc. 1213), Manik moda (acc. 1323), Tepakain (acc. 1532), Bnamka (acc. 1549), Kali bokri (1) (acc. 1633), Ingra (acc. 1643), Lal galong (acc. 1655), Mele (acc. 1671), Gori saita (acc. 1675), Goyal (acc. 1680), Saita (acc. 1681), Kala manic (acc. 1682), Koe juri (acc. 1683), Kautuk moni (acc. 1684), Korcha muri (acc. 1687), Boilam (acc. 1688) and Manik mendal (acc. 1692), selected from the Rice Genebank of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Gazipur were grown under irrigated condition for genetic divergence study. The germplasm were grown with three replications using one row of 5.4 m long each per entry and single seedling per hill with a spacing of 25 X 20 cm between rows and plants, respectively. Fertilizers were applied @ 80:10:60 kg NPK/ha. Control measures for pests, diseases and weed were taken whenever necessary. Fourteen morpho-agronomic and yield contributing characters viz. flag leaf length (cm), flag leaf width (cm), plant height (cm), days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, panicle/hill(no.), panicle length (cm), filled grains/panicle, unfilled grains/panicle, grain length (mm), grain breadth (mm), length-breath ratio, 1000 grain weight (g) and yield/hill (g) were recorded to study the genetic diversity. Mahalonobis’ D2 and Canonical Vector Analysis methods were used to group the varieties based on their yield contributing and ancillaries characters using GENSTAT 5.13 program in computer.
