An experiment was carried out to see the response of different fertilizer combination in T.aus and T.aman crop under AI] 13 during 2000-200 I. The experiment was laid out in a randornised complete block design with six levels of fertilizer combinations viz. estimated mineral fertilizer dose for moderate yield goal (T1). estimated mineral fertilizer dose for HYG (T2); IPNS basis fertilizer management with cowdung for HYG (T3); recommended fertilizer based on FRG/97 (T4); farmers pracrice) and absolute control(To). The highest grain yield of T.Aus andT.aman (3.25 & 5 t/ha. respectively) was obtained from T3 treatment and the lowest (2.14 &. 3.53 t/ha. respectively) from control (To). Economic analysis of T. aus showed that farmers got  highest additional return (153%) by using 70. 6 and I kg/ha N. P and Zn per hectare. respectively If the: farmers applied 80. 16. () and I kg/ha N. P. K and Zn, they can get only 60) percent additional return. In case of T. arnan. it was also observed that marginal rate of return was the highest (868%) at T3 treatment which was followed by T4 (320) .Among the treatments, IPNS basis fertilizer  management with cowdung was economically viable.

To find out the economically viable fertilizer doses for T. Aus (Kazla) and T. Amari (BR 23) which may be accepted by the farmers.

The experiment was conducted at the farmer's field of Jhalokati during 2000-200 I. Characteristically. the soil was medium high land with silt loam texture having pH 6.1-6.8. organic matter 3.183%. total N 0.12%. available phosphorus 7.6 ug/g, available S 50 ug/g. exchangeable K 0.386 ug/g and available Zn 0.93 µg/g. So, the soil contains low N and P, very high K and S and moderate quantity of Zinc. Local improved aus variety 'Kazla' and high yielding variety 'BR 23' were transplanted in aus and aman season, respectively. The experiment was designed with 6 treatments comprised various levels of chemical fertilizer in a Randomized Complete Block design with 6 dispersed replications. Unit plot size was 5mx4m. The treatments were as follows: T1 = Estimated mineral fertilizer dose for moderate yield goal, T2 = Estimated mineral fertilizer dose for high yield goal. T3 = IPNS basis fertilizer recommendation for high yield goal, T4 = Recommended fertilizer based on FRG'97. T5= Farmer's practice, T6 = Absolute control Initial soil sample were collected from the experimental plot before establishment of the first crop and analyzed by following standard procedure (Page et 0/.1989). The fertilizers were used in the form Urea, TSP, MP and Zinc sulphate. Half of urea and all fertilizers were applied as basal. Rest of the urea was applied in 2 equal splits, i.e. at maximum tillering stage and at panicle initiation stage. Necessary intercultural operations and pest management practices were done as and when necessary. The price of N, P, K and Zn were calculated by converting them into urea. TSP, MP and zinc sulphate. So, the price of per kg N, P, K and Zn were 13,61,18 and 37 Tk. The price of T. aus and T. aman grain and straw were estimated as 6, 7 and 0.5 Tk.lkg. The economic analysis was carried out to estimate the economically viable doses of fertilizer by using partial budgeting techniques.
