Abstract/ Executive Summary:

Multilocation trials present actual adaptability of selected hybrids over environment. Before final submission a selected hybrid variety to seed certification agency to evaluate yield performance multilocation testing is necessary. It reflects the actual varietal performance across the environment. Genotype and environment interaction of a variety express its adaptability to a particular location. To boost up confidence not only for yield but also disease reaction and other desired characters multilocation trials give a clear view of variety selection justification. Among the 7 tested entries with 2 inbreed checks, BRRI dhan31 and BRRI dhan39. Only the combinations II32A/BR15R produced about 1 t/ha yield advantage (20.81 %) over BRRI dhan33 at four locations. The highest yield (5.33 t/ha) was recorded in Rajshahi followed by Gazipur (5.20 t/ha).

Objectives:

To study the adaptability and yield potentiality of the identified hybrids.

Methodology:

Seven promising hybrids with two checks were evaluated at 5 different BRRI R/S. Twenty one days old seedlings were transplanted in 30m² plot following RCB design with 3 replications using single seedling per hill. Spacing was 20 x 15 cm. Fertilizers were applied @ 150:100:70:60:10 kg/ha Urea, TSP, MP, gypsum and ZnSO₄respectively.

Achievement/Findings:

Among the 7 tested entries with 2 inbreed checks, BRRI dhan31 and BRRI dhan39. Only the combinations II32A/BR15R produced about 1 t/ha yield advantage (20.81 %) over BRRI dhan33 at four locations. The highest yield (5.33 t/ha) was recorded in Rajshahi followed by Gazipur (5.20 t/ha). Lowest yield performances were observed at BRRI R/S Comilla for all the tested entries due to severe attack of insect pest and diseases.
