Multilocation Trial of Promising Hybrid (on-station & On-farm) for T. Aman Season 2009.

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The experiments were conducted at different locations, such as Gazipur, comilla, Barisal, Satkhira, Rangpur were investigate on grain yield with 5 rice genotypes. In this study to find out the adaptability and yield potentiality of the identified hybrids. Twenty-one-days old seedlings were transplanted in 30m² plot following RCB design with 3 replications using single seedling per hill. Spacing was 20 x 15 cm. Fertilizers were applied @ 150:100:70:60:10 kg/ha Urea, TSP, MP, gypsum and ZnSO₄ respectively. Among the 5 tested entries including 3 heterotic hybrids with inbreed checks BRRI dhan31 and BRRI dhan39. The hybrid combination BRRI 10A/ New R₄ produced 1.70, 1.19, 0.98 t/ha yield advantage with 1 to 2 weeks earlier than BRRI dhan39 at comilla, Gazipur and Barisal, respectively. On the other hand, the combination BRRI9A/NewR4 showed 4.81 and 2.09 t/ha yield advantage at Gazipur and Comilla, respectively. The combination BRRI9A/BRRI12R also produced 2.27 t/ha yield advantage at comilla over BRRI dhan39 with similar growth duration.

Objectives:

Three(3) promising hybrids ( BR9A/BR12R, BR9A/NewR4,& BR10A/NewR4) with two checks (BRRI dhan31 & BRRI dhan39) were evaluated at 5 different locations including on-station (BRRI R/S) trials. Twenty-one-days old seedlings were transplanted in 30m² plot following RCB design with 3 replications using single seedling per hill. Spacing was 20 x 15 cm. Fertilizers were applied @ 150:100:70:60:10 kg/ha Urea, TSP, MP, gypsum and ZnSO₄ respectively. Others necessary operation were done when it required.
