Multilocation trials of experiment hybrids reflect the actual yield potentiality of selected hybrids across environment. it is very important to know the location and environmental effects of a tested variety. Proper selection upon multilocation trials lead to deliver actual hybrid variety that performance well in given environment. Among the 5 tested entries including 3 heterotic hybrids with inbreed checks BRRI dhan31 and BRRI dhan39. The hybrid combination BR10A/ New R4 produced 1.70, 1.19, 0.98 t/ha yield advantage with 1 to 2 weeks earlier than BRRI dhan39 at Comilla, Gazipur and Barisal, respectively. On the other hand, the combinations BR9A/NewR4 showed 4.81 and 2.09 t/ha yield advantage at Gazipur and Comilla, respectively. The combinations BR9A/BR12R also produced 2.27 t/ha yield advantage at Comilla over BRRI dhan39 with similar growth duration.

  • To study the adaptability and yield potentiality of the identified hybrids.

Three (3) promising hybrids with two checks were evaluated at 5 different locations including on-station (BRRI R/S) trials. Twenty-one-days old seedlings were transplanted in 30m2 plot following RCB design with 3 replications using single seedling per hill. Spacing was 20 x 15 cm. Fertilizers were applied @ 150:100:70:60:10 kg/ha Urea, TSP, MP, gypsum and ZnSO4 respectively. Irrigation was applied as requirement and proper cultural practices were maintained.
