This study was carried out at BRRI Gazipur in Aman season during 2006. The objective of this study was to find out the optimum number of seedling per hill & spacing for hybrid rice cultivation.The treatments of trial were: (i). One seedling with 15 cm x 15 cm spacing (S1T1), (ii) One seedling with 20 cm x 15 cm spacing (S1T2), (iii)  One seedling with 20 cm x 20 cm spacing (S1T3), (iv) Two seedling with 15 cm x 15 cm spacing (S2T1), (v) Two seedling with 20 cm x 15 cm spacing (S2T2 ), (vi).Three seedling per hill with 20 cm x 20 cm spacing showed the highest yield (4.09 t/ha) while two seedling per hill with 20 cm x 15 cm spacing showed lowest yield (3.53 t/ha).

This study was undertaken at BRRI Gazipur in Aman season during 2006.  The treatments of trial were: (i). One seedling with 15cm x 15cm spacing (S1T1), (ii) One seedling with 20cm x 15cm spacing (S1T2), (iii)  One seedling with 20 cm x 20 cm spacing (S1T3), (iv) Two seedling with 15 cm x 15 cm spacing (S2T1), (v) Two seedling with 20 cm x 15 cm spacing (S2T2 ), (vi) Two seedling with 20 cm x 20 cm spacing (S2T3), (vii) Three seedling with 15 cm x 15 cm spacing (S3T1), (viii) Three seedling with 20 cm x 15 cm spacing (S3T2) and (ix) Three seedling with 20 cm x 20 cm spacing (S3T3).The experimental plots were laid out in RCB design with 3 replications. BRRI 1A/BR827R was transplanted in a 5m x 4 m plot area using 21 days old seedlings. Spacing and number of seedlings/hill were used as per treatments. Fertilizers @ 150-100-70-60-10 kg/ha of Urea-TSP-MP- Gypsum- ZnSO4 were applied. Water & insects pest management were done when necessary.
