Abstract/ Executive Summary:

Homozygous materials are evaluated for their agronomic traits to check the adaptability under prevailing condition. In the beginning it is not possible to conduct large plot yield trial because of huge number of candidate lines. Therefore, four-line trial (observational trail) was conducted to select the superior genotypes. Seven advance breeding materials were grown in T. Aman /10 season with three standard checks viz BRRI dhan40, BRRI dhan41 and BRRI dhan49 for observational trial. Thirty three selected breeding materials from Boro/09-10 were grown in Boro/11 season for observational trials in three groups with different standard checks. Each progeny was grown in a 5.4m × 4 rows using single seedling/hill. Fertilizers were applied at 120:25:40:10:4 kg/ha of NPKSZn and standard agronomic practices were followed. During T. Methodology:
