Homozygous materials are evaluated for their agronomic traits to check the adaptability under prevailing condition. Four-line trial (observational trail) was conducted to select the superior genotypes.A total of thirteen advance breeding materials were grown in T. Aman /07 with four standard checks viz BRRI dhan32, BRRI dhan39, BRRI dhan40 and BRRI dhan41 in two observational trials. Ten selected breeding materials from Boro/06-07 were grown in Boro/07-08 for observational trial with two standard checks viz. BRRI dhan28 and BRRI dhan29. Each progeny was grown in a 5.4m X 4 rows using single seedling/hill. Fertilizer was applied at 120:25:40:10:4 of NPKSZn kg/ha and standard agronomic practices were followed. Results and discussion: During the T.Aman/07, 13 materials were grown with four standard checks in two observational trails. Five materials were selected depending on the duration and comparable yield with the checks and handed over to plant breeding division for further evaluation. During Boro/07-08, 10 materials were grown with two standard checks to observe the growth and yield performance. Three materials were selected with comparable yield and will be handed over to plant breeding division for further evaluation in the following season.
