Multilocation Trial of Promising Hybrid (on-station) for T. Aman Season

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The experiment was conducted at five locations such as - Gazipur, Comilla, Kustia, Rajsahi and Rangpur during T.Aman season 2010. Six hybrids along with three checks were used following RCBD design with three replications .Seven promising hybrids with two checks were used in RCBD design with three replications. Twenty-one-days old seedlings were transplanted in 30m² plot following RCB design with 3 replications using single seedling per hill. Spacing was 20x15cm. Fertilizers were applied @ 150:100:70:60:10 kg/ha Urea, TSP, MP, gypsum and ZnSO₄ respectively.mong the 7 tested entries with 2 inbreed checks, BRRI dhan31 and BRRI dhan39. Only the combination BRRI 10A/ New R₄ produced average about one t/ha yield advantage (20.81 %) over BRRI dhan33 at four locations. The highest yield (5.33 t/ha) was recorded in Rajshahi followed by Gazipur (5.20 t/ha) . Lowest yield performances were observed at BRRI R/S Comilla for all the tested entries due to severe insect pest and disease attack.
