Abstract/ Executive Summary:

This study was carried out at BRRI Gazipur in Aman season during 2011. The objective of this study was to evaluation of imported hybrids for subsequent selection Eighteen (18) hybrids of different origin along with local checks BRRI dhan31 & BRRI dhan33 were evaluated. Twenty one (21) days old seedlings were transplanted in 5m x 6m area plot following RCB design with 3 replications using one seedling/hill at the spacing of 20cm x 15cm. Fertilizers were applied @ 150:100:70:60:10 kg/ha of urea- TSP-MP- Gypsum-Zn SO4. Intercultural operations, irrigation, rouging were performed as per need basis. It could be said that the most of the advance rice lines had lower plant height. So, these lines did not lodge up to at harvest. The crop duration of most of the advance rice lines was shorter than other lines.

Methodology:

This study was undertaken at BRRI Gazipur in Aman season during 2011. Eighteen (18) hybrids of different origin along with local checks BRRI dhan31 & BRRI dhan33 were evaluated. Twenty one (21) days old seedlings were transplanted in 5m x 6m area plot following RCB design with 3 replications using one seedling/hill at the spacing of 20cm x 15cm. Fertilizers were applied @150:100:70:60:10 kg/ha of Urea-TSP-MP-gypsum and zinc sulphate were used of which ¼ urea, full dose of TSP, Gypsum, Zn SO₄, ²/₃MP were applied as basal. Remaining urea with equal splits was applied at 15-20 DAT, 35-40 DAT and booting stage, respectively. Rest of 1/3 MP was applied with 2^nd top dress of urea. Intercultural operations, irrigation, rouging were performed as per need basis.
