This experiment was conducted at the experimental plot of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Gazipur during Boro season 2012-13. Five hybrids along with 2 checks were used following RCBD design with three replications .Twenty one days old seedlings were transplanted in 10m2 plot using single seedling per hill at a spacing of 20cmx15 cm. Fertilizer dose was applied 270-130-120-70-10kg/ha Urea,TSP,MOP,Gypsum and Zn So4 respectively. There are one promising  hybrids  were selected based on yield performance and agronomic traits  to further  evaluate of preliminary yield trial (PYT). The hybrid combination IR 79156A/F2277R  gave 1.45 t/ha yield advantage over BRRI dhan28 apparently at the same growth duration.

To conduct preliminary evaluation for yield of promising rice hybrids

The experiment was conducted with five (5) hybrids along with 2 checks (BRRI dhan28, BRRI dhan 29). Thirty days old seedlings were transplanted in 10m2 plot using single seedling per hill at a spacing of 20cmx15 cm. Fertilizers were applied @ of 270:130:120:70:10 kg/ha Urea, TSP, MP, gypsum and ZnSO4, respectively. Intercultural and agronomic practices will be applied when necessary.

The hybrid combination  IR 79156A/F2277R  was gave 1.45 t/ha yield advantage over BRRI dhan 28 out of fibe hybrids apparently at the same growth duration .
