Objective of the study was to select the best progenies with high yield and salinity tolerance. A total of 698 lines were grown in T. Aman/1999 and 98 lines were grown in Boro/1999-2000 season. A total of 106 plants were selected and 14 homozygous lines were bulked from 698 pedigree lines during T. Aman/1999. During Boro/1999-2000, 57 plants were selected and 7 homozygous lines were bulked from 98 pedigree lines for further evaluation

To select the best progenies with high yield and salinity tolerance

A total of 698 lines were grown in T. Aman/1999 and 98 lines were grown in Boro/1999-2000 season. Each progeny was grown in a 5.4 m single row using single seedling/hill at 20 × 15cm spacing. Standard checks were planted after every 10th row. Fertilizer was applied at 120:25:40:10:4 of N, P, K, S, Zn Kg/ha, respectively, and standard agronomic practices were followed for the experiment.
