Three rice genotypes (2 mutants, KD5-18-150 and a check  BRRI dhan34) were evaluated at farmers' field of five locations (Mymensingh, Ishurdi, Rangpur, Jamalpur and Comilla) for their yield performance during Aman season 2012. The experiments were conducted following randomized complete block design with three replications. KD5-18-150 recorded the highest grain yield at three locations out of five where as RM-100-16 produced the highest grain yield at two locations.

To evaluate yield performance of two advanced mutants, KD5-18-150 and a RM-100-16 along with a check variety, BRRI dhan34 at farmers' field of five locations

Two advanced mutants, KD5-18-150 and RM-100-16 along with a check variety, BRRI dhan34 were evaluated at farmers' field of five locations (Mymensingh, Ishurdi, Rangpur, Jamalpur and Comilla) during Aman season, 2012. The experiments were conducted following randomized complete block design with three replications. The unit plot size of each experiment was 8 m x 6 m. Fertilizers such as urea, TSP and MP were applied at the rate of 180, 150 and 120 kg ha-1, respectively. Transplating was done with 25-day old seedlings having the hill spacing of 20 cm x 15 cm. At harvest, 10 hills plot-1, were randomely selected for collecting data of yield contributing characters. Grain yield plot-1 was finally converted into t ha-1.  Data were statistically analyzed. Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) compared the means.

Average grain yield of the aromatic rice mutant, KD5-18-150 over five locations was 3.65 t ha-1. The mutant KD5-18-150, derived from local cutivar Kalizira was released as Binadhan-13 by National Seed Board on 26 August 2013.
