Different management practices showed significant differences. Rain-fed treatment showed lower yield in all locations. The polythene mulch treatment in inter row spacing showed higher yield performance and Godagari gave the highest yield (1.56 t ha-1) followed by Tanore and Nachole. Under rain-fed condition at Nachole, the lowest yield was 1.32 t ha-1.

To assess performances of chickpea varieties  as affected by management practices in the drought prone agriculture

Three different drought management practices: (i) Irrigation 2 first with under early vegetative while second before flowering (ii) Rain-fed and (iii) Polythene mulch in inter row just after sowing were given to grow chickpea at three locations of Godagari, Tanore and Nachole. The experiment was carried out in split plot design with 3 replications. The data on yield and yield attributes were recorded from 10 randomly selected plants while plot yields were converted into per hectare.

Polythene mulch in inter row spacings chickpea under drought prone Barind tract (Godagari, Tanore  and Nachole) maintained prolonged residual soil moisture
