A field experiment was carried out at Regional Pulses Research Station (RPRS), Madaripur during Rabi season of 2013-14 to evaluate the most effective fungicides in controlling Botrytis Gray Mould (BGM) of Chickpea. Seven different fungicides viz- Difenaconazole (Score 250EC), Iprodione (Rovral 50WP ), Carbendazim (Bavistin DF), Secure 600WG (Fenamidone +Mancozeb), Fenamidone +Mancozeb (Secure 600WG), Iprovalicarb +Propineb (Melody Duo), Copper Hydroxide (Cupravit 50WP) and control were evaluated under natural condition. Results revealed that among the seven fungicides Fenamidone +Mancozeb (Secure 600WG) treated plot showed best diseases score (3.46) against BGM and produced highest yield (1.75 t/ha). The highest disease score (6.36) and yield (1.04 t/ha) was obtained from untreated control plot.

The experiment has been conducted with a view to control Botrytis Gray Mold of chickpea by effective fungicides

The experiment was conducted at RPRS, Madaripur during Rabi season of 2013-14. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The seven fungicides viz. Difenaconazole (Score 250EC), Iprodione (Rovral 50WP ), Carbendazim (Bavistin DF), Secure 600WG (Fenamidone +Mancozeb), Fenamidone +Mancozeb (Secure 600WG), Iprovalicarb +Propineb (Melody Duo), Copper Hydroxide (Cupravit 50WP) and control were included in the study. The unit plot size was 3m ×4m and spacing was 50 cm × 10 cm. A BGM susceptible chickpea variety BARI Chickpea-1 were sown in the rows and covered with soil on 20 November 2013. Intercultural operations were done as and when necessary. Insecticide Cypermethrin (Ripcord 10 EC) (0.2%) was applied for controlling pod borers. Data on yield and yield contributing characters were recorded from 10 randomly selected plants and BGM score (1-9 scale) were recorded. The crops were harvested on 8 to 10 March 2014. Grain yield (kg/ha) were recorded from the whole plot. The Data were analyzed statistically through MSTAT-C.

The average mortality percentage was observed highest (7.66) in control plot and lowest (5.33) in Carbendazim (Bavistin DF) treated plot. The disease score was lowest (3.46) in plot sprayed with Fenamidone +Mancozeb (Secure 600WG) showed resistant reaction to disease. The disease severity was high (6.36) in untreated control plot. The highest plant height (44.47cm) was recorded from Copper Hydroxide (Cupravit 50WP)  treated plot and lowest (41.80cm) from Iprovalicarb +Propineb (Melody Duo) treated plot. The maximum number of branch (3.86) was recorded from Carbendazim (Bavistin DF) treated plot and lowest (3.26) was found in untreated control plot. The highest no. of pod/plant (64.60) was recorded in Fenamidone +Mancozeb (Secure 600WG) sprayed plot, followed by (56.20) Iprovalicarb +Propineb (Melody Duo) treated plot. Incase of no. of seeds/pod, Difenaconazole (Score 250EC), Iprodione (Rovral 50WP), Fenamidone +Mancozeb (Secure 600WG) and Tebuconzole (Folicur 430SC) treated plot produce maximum (1.66) and control was lowest (1.32). The maximum (15.33g) 100 seed weight recorded from Fenamidone +Mancozeb (Secure 600WG) and Iprovalicarb +Propineb (Melody Duo) treated plot and minimum (13.67g) from control plot. Among the seven fungicides Fenamidone +Mancozeb (Secure 600WG) sprayed plot produced highest seed yield (1.75 t/ha) and % increase (68.26) of yield over control followed by Iprodione (Rovral 50WP) (1.43 t/ha, % increase 37.5) and the lowest seed yield (1.04 t/ha) was recorded in control plot.

It could be concluded that Fenamidone +Mancozeb (Secure 600WG) can effectively controlled BGM and gave higher yield (1.75 t/ha) of chickpea
