Performance of 11 clonal potato hybrids and two check BARl Alu-7 (Diamant) and BARl Alu-8 (Cardinal) were evaluated at the BSPC, Debiganj, Panchagarh. Among the 13 genotypes; the 11.95 gave the highest yield (59.35 t/ha) and followed by 11.93 (49.54 t/ha), 11.80 (49.07 t/ha), 11.77 (48.41 t/ha), 11.50 (47.41 t/ha), 11.68 (42.41 t/ha), 11.35 (40.93 t/ha) and 11.99 (39.20) and the lowest was found in 11.59 (28.56 t/ha). Among the genotypes hybrid clones produced higher yield over check varieties.

To evaluate the hybrid  potato genotypes for selection of superior one 

This study was carried out at the BSPC, Debiganj, Panchagarh with 11 potato genotypes selected from last four consecutive years trial (TCRC, 2010-2013) along with two check BARl Alu-7 (Diamant) and BARI Alu-8 (Cardinal). The seeds were sown on the last week of November, 2013. The unit plot size was 3.0 m x 3.0 m. Whole tubers were planted with a spacing of 60 cm x 25 cm. Fertilizers were applied @ 350-250-275-120 kg/ha of urea, triple super phosphate, muriate of potash and gypsum, respectively. Design was RCB with three replications. Data were taken on days to start emergence, days to 80% emergence, percent emergence at 30 DAP, plant height, foliage coverage, plant vigor, number of stem per hill, number of tuber per hill, tuber weight per hill, yield per hectare and % grading by number and weight.

All the genotypes produced more yield except hybrid clones 11.59 over check varieties. So, eleven hybrid clones could be selected as superior for the next year trial (SYT).
