A study was carried out to find out the change of electrical properties of woven and nonwoven jute fabrics. Electrical resistance of jute fabrics has been measured through the digital impedance meter. Effect of input voltage, gauge length and type of fabric has been studied and analyzed. Experimental results indicated that electrical resistance of woven and nonwoven jute fabric decreases with the increase of input voltage and increases with the increase in gauge length.  It is also observed that the electrical resistance varies with the type of fabric.

  Performance

To use jute fabrics as an insulator by analyzing electrical properties of jute fabrics.

The experiment was performed by using Digital Impedance Meter.  This meter is a digital format of LRC circuit. Samples were placed at fixed terminal of the meter and the expected results were shown on the screen. The specific resistance was measured for different voltages and also for different gauge length. Woven and Non-woven jute fabrics were collected from Janata Jute Mill Ltd. and BJRI.

Electrical resistance of woven and nonwoven jute fabrics decreases with the increase of input voltage. The specific resistance is higher in woven jute fabric than that of nonwoven jute fabric. Electrical resistance increases with the increase of gauge length of fabrics.
