A comprehensive survey was conducted in Jamalpur and Mymensingh districts of the region to identify the incidence and severity of citrus greening during November, 2018 to March, 2019. Different greening infected trees were found at several locations including RARS, Jamalpur. Collected leaf samples were sent to Plant Pathology Laboratory, BARI, Gazipur for molecular detection and confirmaton.

Citrus greening was first detected in Bangladesh in 2016. But no data was available about incidence and severity in Jamalpur region. So, this experiment was undertaken to identify incidence and severity of  Citrus greening diseases.

The survey work was conducted in Jamalpur and Mymensingh districts of the region to identify the incidence and severity during November, 2018 to March, 2019. Symptomatic leaf samples were collected during survey from infected sweet orange trees. Samples were kept in zipper bag and then preserved in air-tight plastic box with silica gel at 4ºC. For further analysis, leaf samples were then sent to Plant Pathology Laboratory, BARI, Gazipur for molecular detection. DNA extraction was done by Promega DNA extraction kit. After receiving primer set from abroad Polymerage Chain Reaction (PCR) and Gel Electrophoresis will be done for confirmation.

Different greening infected trees were found at several locations including RARS, Jamalpur with characteristic motling symptom on the leaf. Collected leaf samples were sent to Plant Pathology Laboratory, BARI, Gazipur for molecular detection and confirmaton. Result will be found after Polymerage Chain Reaction (PCR) and Gel Electrophoresis of extracted DNA samples. Final conclusion can be done after Polymerage Chain Reaction (PCR) and Gel Electrophoresis of extracted DNA samples.
