Five different fungicides Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim), Secure 600WG (Fenamidone+Mancozeb), Nativo 75WG(Tebuconazole+Trifloxystobin), Acrobat MZ (Metalaxyl+Mancozeb), Indofil (Mancozeb) and control were evaluated under natural condition. Results revealed that among the five fungicides Secure 600WG (Fenamidone+Mancozeb), Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim) treated plots showed best diseases score (both 2.33) against BGM and produced highest yield (1052, 1015 kg/ha respectively) and increase of yield over control (61.21, 61.17% respectively). The highest disease score (5.33) and lowest yield (408 kg/ha) was obtained in untreated control plot.

Research findings said that foliar application of fungicide is one of the most important management options. So, the experiment has been conducted with a view to control BGM by foliar application

The experiment was conducted at RPRS, Madaripur during Rabi season of 2015-16. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Five different fungicides Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim) @0.2%, Secure 600WG (Fenamidone+Mancozeb @ 0.1%), Nativo 75WG(Tebuconazole+Trifloxystobin) @ 0.2%, Acrobat MZ (Metalaxyl+Mancozeb) @0.2%, Indofil (Mancozeb) @ 0.2% and control were evaluated under natural condition. The unit plot size was 3 m X 4 m and spacing was 50 cm × 10 cm. A BGM susceptible Chickpea variety BARI Chola-1 were sown in the rows and covered with soil on 15 November, 2015. Intercultural operations were done as and when necessary. Data on yield and yield contributing characters were recorded from 10 randomly selected plants. Three sprays were applied at weekly interval on 25 January, 2016, 02 and 09 February, 2016 respectively by the knapsack sprayer. Data on BGM disease was recorded on three frequencies (28 January, 2016, 5 February, 2016 and 12 February, 2016). BGM of Chickpea was graded on a 1-9 scoring scale (Singh, 1999).

Results of diseases score and yield are presented in Table 16. The BGM disease score was lowest (2.33) in plot sprayed with Secure 600WG (Fenamidone + Mancozeb), Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim) and was highest (5.33) in untreated control plot. The reduction of disease severity was highest (56.28%) both in Secure 600WG (Fenamidone + Mancozeb), Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim) treated plot, and lowest (24.95%) reduction was achieved in the treatment Indofil M8 (Mancozeb). The highest no. of pods/plant (55.93) was recorded in Secure 600WG (Fenamidone + Mancozeb) sprayed plot, followed by (51.20) Nativo 75WG (Tebuconazole + Trifloxystobin) treated plot which was statistically identical with the Secure 600WG (Fenamidone + Mancozeb) and lowest (32.80) in control plot. Among the fungicides Secure 600WG (Fenamidone + Mancozeb) sprayed plot produced highest seed yield (1052 kg/ha) and increase (61.21%) of yield over control followed by (1015 kg/ha) Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim) and increase (61.17%) of yield over control and the lowest seed yield (408 kg/ha) was recorded in control plot. These two treatments (Secure 600WG (Fenamidone + Mancozeb and Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim) produced statistically identical yield, but have significant difference with other treatments. The net income and marginal benefit cost ration (MBCR) varied depending on the cost of fungicidal application is presented in Table 17. The highest net income (Tk 39680/ha) was achieved from Secure 600WG (Fenamidone + Mancozeb) sprayed plots followed by Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim) (Tk 36490/ha). In the marginal benefit cost analysis it is seen that the highest monetary benefit (MBCR 7.35) come from Secure 600WG (Fenamidone + Mancozeb) followed by Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim) (MBCR 6.08). For each taka spent, Secure 600WG (Fenamidone + Mancozeb) gave profit of Tk.7.35 as against Tk.6.08, 3.19, 2.12 and 0.21 by Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim), Nativo 75WG (Tebuconazole+Trifloxystobin), Acrobat MZ (Metalaxyl + Mancozeb), Indofil (Mancozeb) respectively. From the above findings, it may be suggested that Secure 600WG (Fenamidone+Mancozeb) and Knowin 500SC (Carbendazim) can effectively control BGM (both score 2.33, disease reduction 56.28%) and produced higher yield (1052 kg/ha and 1015 kg/ha respectively) of quality Chickpea. These two fungicides also provide highest BCR, 7.35 and 6.08 respectively.
