The present study was conducted to evaluate the Artificial Insemination (AI) programof UpazillaLivestock Office and BRAC AI Enterprise at Sadullapur, Gaibandha, Bangladesh. The study was conducted at Sadullapurupazilla ofGaibandha district fromJuly, 2017 through June, 2018. The data were collected from the record books of Upazila Livestock Office and BRAC AI Enterprise, Sadullapur, Gaibandha. The performance of AI program was evaluated on the basis of conception rate and calving rate. Descriptive statistics were performed to estimate the conception rate and calving rate.Chi-square test was performed to check the difference of conception rate and calving rate between Upazilla Livestock office and BRAC AI Enterprise where confidence interval was 95%. The conception rate of AI program at Upazila Livestock Office was significantly higher than the BRAC AI Enterprise. The calving rate of AI program at Upazila Livestock Office andBRAC AI Enterprise were not significantly different. The Holstein Friesian (HF) is commonly used for AI program by upazilla livestock office and BRAC AI Enterprise followed by Sahiwal, Jersy and other crossbred. It was shown that the conception rate was significantly higher at Upazila Livestock Office than the BRAC AI Enterprise at Sadullapurupazilla in Gaibandha district.

The present study was conducted to investigate the AI program and compare the AI program between Upazila Livestock Office and BRAC AI Enterprise at Sadullapur upazilla in Gaibandha district. 

 The data were collected from the record books of Upazilla Livestock Office and BRAC AI Enterprise, Sadullapur, Gaibandha. The current data (2017-2018) of AI were collected from July, 2017 through June, 2018 and the progressive data (Subsequent year based data) of AI were collected from 2013 through 2018. After collection, the data were reviewed, coded and then tabulated in spread sheet for further analysis. At each stage of survey, data sheets were compared with original data sheets to ensure the accuracy of entered data. All the collected data were analyzed by Microsoft Excel. To estimate the conception rate and calving rate of both study areas following formula was followed: Conception rate = Number of cows/heifers conceived Number of cows/heifers inseminated × 100 Calving rate = Number of calves born Number of cows/heifers conceived × 100 Chi-square test was performed to check the difference of conception rate and calving rate between Upazilla Livestock office and BRAC AI Enterprise where confidence interval (CI) was 95%.

Upazilla Livestock Office, Sadullapur, Gaibandha have adequate skilled personnel and provides both center service as well as doorstep AI service, availability of AI workers, skilled AI workers and strict management. But the service of BRAC AI Enterprise is somehow unsatisfactory because of their poor management and shortage of skilled AI volunteers. So, efficiency of AI program at Upazilla Livestock Office was found better than that of BRAC AI Enterprise at Sadullapurupazilla in Gaibandha district. Thus, BRAC AI Enterprise needs to take improvement measures for improving conception rate and calving rate in future.
