The experiment was conducted at Regional Agricultural Research station, BARI, Ishurdi, Pabna, to evaluate the pulses (lentil and mung bean) performance on different seeding system as well as seeding device performance where lentil at residual soil moisture with rice residue except mung been.  Five seeding method  like  i) Broad casting with 4 times tillage, (Conventional) ii) Direct bed planting seeding iii) PTOS seeding  iv) Strip tillage seeding and v) Zero tillage seeding system, with previous crop  residue treatments were assigned in a RCBD design with three replication. In bed planting, PTOS, strip tillage, zero, 49.31%, 53.08%, 67.54%, and 75.48% respectively, of lower fuel consumption was documented than conventional tillage seeding. The results clearly revealed that seeding operation by bed planting, PTOS, strip tillage, zero, seeding method was saved 48.1%, 52.91%, 65.89% and 72.81% of time respectively than that of conventional broadcasted method. The performance of both pulse like lentil and mung bean on Bed planting seeding system is best compare to other seeding and tillage system. From the results, it is clear that most of the time, yield increased 4.00% to 12.62% for lentil and 17 % to 28% for mungbean in mechanical seeding system than conventional system. In mechanical seeding system like bed planting, PTOS, Strip tillage were more suitable than zero tillage seeding system. For lentil there were no need post sowing irrigation if seed was showing with in one weak just after T aman harvest having enough residual soil moisture. While, post sowing irrigation must be applied for ensure seed germination at mung bean cultivation.  Bed planting seeding system supply extra facilities for irrigation and drainage system for mung bean.

To evaluate the pulses performance on different seeding system as well as seeding device performance where lentil at residual soil moisture with rice residue except mungbean.  

The experiment was conducted at Regional Agricultural Research station, BARI, Ishurdi, Pabna, during rabi season of 2017-2018 , 2018-2019 (lentil) and kharif 2018 (mung bean). The experimental site was a silty clay loam having field capacity of 28.5%, permanent wilting point at 13% and bulk density of 1.49 g cm-3. Six tillage systems were assigned in a Randomize Complete Block Design with three replications. Seed of BARI Masur-8 and BARI mung-6 were  sown in the unit plots of size was 7 × 10 m and was subjected to following tillage and seeding treatments: i) Broad casting with 4 times tillage, (conventional)  ii) Bed planting seeding, iii)  PTOS seeding,  iv) Strip tillage seeding and  v) Zero tillage seeding system. In broad casting with 4 times tillage treatment, seeds were sown by broadcasting method and soil was tilled 3 times by 48 numbers of rotating blades at shallow depth with very high speed rotating blades and one times laddering. In Bed planting seeding method, seeds were directly seeding by bed planter where bed width and bed to bed distance were 30 cm and 20 cm, respectively. Bed planter contained 24 tines for prepared bed. In PTOS seeding system, seeds were sown PTOS planter with 3 to 6 cm tillage depth and maintained 30 cm row to row distance used to 48 tines. In strip tillage system maintained 30cm distance between two rows by using the PTOS seeder. In strip till system, rotating blades were reduced to 24 numbers where 4 blades in face to face configuration remain in the gang at front position of seed furrow opener for tilling in strip 4cm to 6 cm and creating tilt soil just in front of furrow openers and between the two furrow openers the soil remained untilled. In zero tillage seeding system seeds were sown by direct drilling instead of tilling.  PTOS was also used for zero tillage treatment and maintained 30 cm row to row distance. Bed planting, PTOS, Strip and zero tillage seeding system which employs tilling the soil just in front of furrow opener and place seed, and fertilizer in line or bed at maintain right depth in a single operation just after T-aman rice harvest to utilize the residual soil moisture. T-aman rice residue was also used and maintain height 20-25 cm for lentil. At the sowing condition soil moisture was recorded 30 – 32% for lentil and 17-18% for mungbean. Lentil seeds were sown on 15 November 2017, 03 November 2018 and harvested on 8 March 2018, 03 March 2019. Mung seeds were sown 17 March 2018 and harvested on 21 May 2018.  All the agronomic practices were carried out uniformly. The grain yield was recorded after harvest. Data was analyzed by using R software.

From these results may be concluded that mechanical seeding system is possible for lentil at residual soil moisture where sacrificing minimum yield or not. Most of the time, yield increased 4.00% to 12.62% for lentil and 17 % to 28% for mungbean in mechanical seeding system than conventional system. In mechanical seeding system like bed planting, PTOS, Strip tillage were more suitable than zero tillage seeding system. In mung bean, post sowing irrigation must be applied for ensure seed germination.  Bed planting seeding system supply extra facilities for irrigation and drainage system for mung bean.
