Evaluation of Naturezeb 80 Wp, Azob 80 Wdc, Joybun 80 Wdc, Amazim 50 Wdg, Chenadrone 50 Wp, Kb Stin 50 Wp, Symzeb 80 Wp, K- Zeb 45, Okapi 75 Wg and Tipoff 28 Wc Fungicides Against Seed Borne Fungal Pathogens of Jute, Kenaf and Mesta

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

At JAES, Manikganj, the highest total disease incidence (18.24%) and lowest total disease incidence (11.85%) were recorded before spraying of the fungicides. The highest total disease incidence (6.60%) was recorded under control treatment after spraying of fungicide. Whereas the lowest total disease incidence (2.10%) was recorded with Chenadrone 50 WP spraying. At Kishoreganj Regional Station, the highest total disease incidence (16.25%) and lowest total disease incidence (6.93%) were recorded before spraying of fungicide. After spraying, the highest total disease incidence (5.78%) was recorded under control treatment. Whereas the lowest total disease incidence (2.56%) was recorded where KB Stin 50 WP was as spraying fungicide.

Objectives:

Some new fungicides are available in the market which also need to be evaluated against the fungal diseases of jute and allied fibre crops.Thus the present study was under taken as per decision of Pesticide Technical Advisory Committee meeting.

Methodology:

Jute plants, Capsularis (CVL-1) was grown in RCBD with plot size (4 X 2.5 m) in the field. Normal agronomical practices of plants for jute plant growing were followed. The plants were let to be naturally included. At sufficient disease incidence in the field (more than 20%), the new chemical fungicides with the check fungicide, Dithane M-45 was sprayed. No spray was given to the control. The experiment was conducted following RCBD using 4 replication of each treatment.

Treatments: Newly assayed fungicides viz. Gutivo 75G, Hakdak 45 WG, Absotip 75 WG, Absodak 45 WG, ACI FLO and Dithane M-45 and Control

Date of spraying (1st spraying = 15 days after final thinning 2^nd spraying = 1 month after 1^st spray and 3^rd spraying = 1 week before harvesting of the crop).

Achievement/Findings:

Assayed fungicides viz. Naturezeb 80 WP, Azob 80 WDG, Joybun 80 WDG, Amazim 50 WDG, Chinadrone 50 WP, KB Stin 50 WP, Symzeb 80 WP, K- zeb 45, Okapi 75 WG and Tipoff 28 SC were found effective for controlling seed-borne fungal diseases.
