Evaluation of Maxanil 72% Wp, Bactvipe, Sanjeevni, Arba Gold 50 Wdg, Maxanil 72% Wp, Power Cardion 52.5 Wp, Camping 50% Wp, Kiasin 8 Sl, Noon 8 Sl, High Power Conazole 25 Sc and High Power Mz 72 Wp Fungicides Against Seed Borne Fungal Pathogens of Jute, Kenaf and Mesta

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

At JAES, in the case of stem rot, the highest disease checked 83.64% was recorded with Sanjeevni spraying and the lowest disease checked 49.13% under control condition. In the case of the black band, the highest checked 89.60% was recorded with Arba gold 50 WDG spraying and the lowest disease checked 59.50% under control condition. In the case of dieback, the highest disease checked 86.90% was recorded with Maxanil 72%WP spraying and the lowest disease checked 57.89% under control condition. In case of Anthracnose, the highest disease checked 82.65% was recorded with High Power MZ 72 WP spraying and lowest disease checked 59.50% under control condition At KRS, in case of stem rot, highest disease checked 84.98% was recorded with Maxanil 72% WP spraying and the lowest disease checked 49.13% under control condition. In case of black band, the highest checked 88.18% was recorded with Arba gold 50 WDG spraying and the lowest disease checked 57.25% under control condition. The highest disease checked (82.90%) was recorded with Power Cardion 52.5 WP spraying and lowest disease checked (59.50%) under control condition for Dieback control. In case of Anthracnose, the highest disease checked (89.60%) was recorded with Noon 8 SL spraying and lowest disease checked (57.25%) under control condition.

Objectives:

New fungicides are available in the market which also need to be evaluated against the fungal diseases of jute and allied fibre crops.Thus the present study was under taken as per decision of Pesticide Technical Advisory Committee meeting.

Methodology:

ute plants, Capsularis (CVL-1) was grown in RCBD with plot size (4 X 2.5 m) in the field. Normal agronomical practices of plants for jute plant growing were followed. The plants were let to be naturally included. At sufficient disease incidence in the field (more than 20%), the new chemical fungicides with the check fungicide, Dithane M-45 was sprayed. No spray was given to the control. The experiment was conducted following RCBD using 4 replication of each treatment.

Treatments: Newly assayed fungicides viz. Gutivo 75G, Hakdak 45 WG, Absotip 75 WG, Absodak 45 WG, ACI FLO and Dithane M-45 and Control

Date of spraying (1st spraying = 15 days after final thinning 2^nd spraying = 1 month after 1^st spray and 3^rd spraying = 1 week before harvesting of the crop).

Achievement/Findings:

Assayed fungicides viz. Maxanil 72% WP, Bactvipe and Sanjeevni were found effective for controlling stem rot, Arba gold 50 WDG was found effective for controlling black band, Maxanil 72% WP, Power Cardion 52.5 WP, Camping 50% WP were found effective for controlling die back and Kiasin 8 SL, Noon 8 SL, High power conazole 25 SC and High power MZ 72 WP were found effective for controlling Dieback disease.
