Evaluation of New Fungicides Against Anthracnose of Mango

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The experiment was conducted at f Regional Agricultural Research Station, Ishurdi, Pabna during 2017-18 to find out the effective new fungicides for controlling anthracnose disease of mango. Twenty new fungicides viz. Ecomyl plus 72, Aidzeb 80 WP, Tipoff 28 SC, Jago 68 WP,Limotar top 32.5 SC, Carbostin 50 WDG, Famous 60WG, Clean 75WG, Sunlit 75WP, Salvation 32.5EC, N-Zim 50WP, Chief 75% WDG, Magic 28SC, Arba gold 50 WDG, Blaster -75 WP, Baiconazole Plus -25 SC, Tryozol 64.5 WDG, I-Tpo 32.5 SC, Mukti 32.5SC, Chemozim 50 SC and control were tested for their performance against the disease. All the fungicides showed significantly better performance over control. Disease reduction over control ranged from 6.49% - 88.31%. The maximum disease reduction over control (88.31%) was found in Chemozim 50 SC @ 2 gm/l followed by N-Zim 50WP @ 2 gm/l (83.56%), Clean 75WG @ 0.5 gm/l (83.12%), Famous 60WG @ 2 gm/l (81.82%), Chief 75% WDG @ 0.5 gm/l (81.82%), Magic 28SC @ 1 ml/l (81.82%), I-Tpo 32.5 SC @1 ml/l (81.82%), Mukti 32.5SC @1 ml/l (81.82%), Arba gold 50 WDG @ 2 gm/l (81.38%) and the lowest (6.49%) was found in Aidzeb 80 WP @ 2 gm/l.

Objectives:

The experiment was undertaken to find out some new fungicides to control anthracnose disease of mango.

Methodology:

The experiment was conducted at established mango orchard of RARS, Ishurdi,Pabna during 2017-18.The experiment was carried out following Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. The test variety of mango was BARI Am-3. Twenty new fungicides viz. Ecomyl plus 72 WP (Mancozeb + cymoxanil)@ 2 gm/l, Aidzeb 80 WP (Mancozeb 80 WP)@ 2 gm/l, Tipoff 28 SC (Azxystrobin 20% + Cyproconazol 80%) @ 1 ml/l, Jago 68 WP (Mancozeb + Cymoxanil + Dinathomorph) @ 2 gm/l,Limotar top 32.5 SC (Azoxystrobin + difenoconozol),Carbostin 50 WDG (Carbendazim 50WP) @ 1 ml/l, Famous 60WG (Pyrachloztrobin + 5%, Metirum 55%) @ 2 gm/l, Clean 75WG (Tebuconazol 50% + Trifloxstrobin 25%) @ 0.5 gm/l, Sunlit 75WP (Mancozeb 63% + Carbendazim 12%) @ 2 gm/l, Salvation 32.5EC (Azoxystrobin 20% + Difenoconazole 12.5%) @ 1 ml/l, N-Zim 50WP (Carbendazim 50%) @ 2 gm/l, Chief 75% WDG (Trifloxystrobin 25% + Tebuconazole 50% WDG) @ 0.5 gm/l, Magic 28SC (Azoxystrobin20% + Cyproconazole 8) @ 1 ml/l, Arba gold 50 WDG (Carbendazim 50%) @ 2 gm/l, Blaster -75 WP (Tricyclazole 75% WP) @ 2 gm/l, Baiconazole Plus 25 SC (Hexaconazole 3% + Tricyclazole 22%) @ 0.5 ml/l, Tryozol 64.5 WDG (Azoxystrobin + Difenoconazil + Tricyclazol + Lufenuron) @ 1 ml/l, I-Tpo 32.5 SC (Azoxystrobin 20% + Difenoconazole 12.5%) @ 1 ml/l, Mukti 32.5SC (Azoxystrobin 20% + Difenoconazole 12.5%) @ 1 ml/l, Chemozim 50 SC (Carbendazim 50% SC) @ 2 gm/l and control wereused in thisexperiment. Spraying was conducted three times at 15 days interval starting from immediate appearance of disease symptom. Data were recorded on % fruit area diseased which was converted into % disease reduction over control. The data were analyzed statistically for test of significance and mean compared following the Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT).

Achievement/Findings:

It may be concluded that Chemozim 50 SC @ 2 gm/l, N-Zim 50WP @ 2 gm/l, Clean 75WG @ 0.5 gm/l, Famous 60WG @ 2 gm/l, Chief 75% WDG @ 0.5 gm/l, Magic 28SC @ 1 ml/l, I-Tpo 32.5 SC @1 ml/l, Mukti 32.5SC @1 ml/l and Arba gold 50 WDG @ 2 gm/l successfully reduced more than 80% anthracnose disease severity of mango.
