A field experiments on the Mustard-Mungbean-T.aus-T.aman rice cropping pattern was conducted in Grey Terrace Soil of Joydebpur under AEZ-28 during rabi 2015-2016 to observe the effect of tillage practices and integrated nutrient management on soil properties and to increase the productivity of the said cropping sequence. There were 3 types of tillage such as minimum tillage (T1), conventional tillage (T2) and deep tillage (T3). In addition, 4 fertilizer packages such as 100 % STB dose (NM1), 125 % STB dose (NM2) and 100 % STB formulated with cowdung based IPNS (NM3) and without fertilizer (NM4) were studied in a two-factor RCB design with 12 treatments and 3 replications. Both tillage and nutrient management packages produced significantly higher seed yields of mustard. Deep tillage and IPNS based nutrient management (T3M3) gave the highest yield (1.62 t ha-1) in case of mustard but deep tillage and 125% STB dose (T3M2) gave the highest yield (990.2 kg ha-1) for mungbean. The experiment is in progress with the third crop, T. aus rice is in the vegetative stage and the fourth crop T. aman is followed. Note: NM=Nutrient management and T=Tillage.

To fulfill the following objectives: to observe the effect of tillage practices and integrated nutrient management on soil properties and to increase the productivity of the said cropping sequence.

Field experiments on Mustard-Mungbean-T.aus-T.aman rice cropping pattern were conducted in Grey Terrace soil of Joydebpur under AEZ-28. The physical and chemical properties of experimental soil are presented. Mustard was the first crop in this season. The tillage operations such as minimum tillage (4-6 cm depth) with power tiller operated seeder (PTOS), conventional tillage (10-12 cm depth) with power tiller and deep tillage (20-25 cm depth) by chisel were employed in combination with four types of nutrient management options Viz. NM1=100 % STB dose, NM2=125 % STB dose and NM3=100 % STB dose supplied 80% from chemical fertilizers and rest 20% from cowdung following IPNS approach and NM4: Native fertility was studied. Thus 12 treatment combinations were arranged in two factors RCB design with three replications. The tested variety was BARI Sharisha-14 and BARI Mung-6. The crops were fertilized with soil test-based (STB) fertilizer dose as per FRG-2012 (BARC, 2012). The fertilizer dose of mustard was N103 P14 K45 S12 Zn0.6 B1 kg ha-1 and N21 P14 K27 S14 Zn0.6 B1 kg ha-1 for mungbean. For the supplement of 20 % STB nutrients, 4. 1t ha-1 and 0.84 tha-1 cowdung was used for the treatment NM3 in addition to 80 % inorganic fertilizers for mustard and mungbean, respectively. The seed of mustard was sown on 08 November 2015 and 08 March 2016 for mustard and mungbean, respectively. All intercultural operations were done as per the requirement of the crop. The mustard was harvested on 03 February and 17 May for mustard and mungbean, respectively. All relevant data were collected from both locations. The data were analyzed statistically following the Statistics 10 program.

Tillage methods and nutrient management packages contributed significantly to increase the seed yield of both mustard and mungbean under Mustard- Mungbean- T. aus-T. aman rice cropping pattern. The performance of the mungbean was not encouraging due to fewer pods and seed formation at Gazipur region. The experiment is in progress with vegetative growth of the third crop, T. aus rice and fourth crop T. aman is followed.
