A field experiments on Gardenpea- Maize-T.Aman rice cropping pattern were conducted in Grey Terrace soil of Joydebpur under AEZ-28 during rabi 2018-2019 to observe the effect of tillage practices and phosphorus form on soil properties and to increase the productivity of cropping system. There were 2 types of tillage such as Strip tillage (ST) and conventional tillage (CT). In addition, 3 form of phosphorus such as granular form (basal) (P1), powder form (basal) (P2) and granular form (split) (P3) in a split plot RCB design with 6 treatments and 3 replications. Strip tillage gave more yield than conventional tillage for pea (p≤0.05) vice-versa for maize (p≥0.05). Powder form (basal) significantly performed the best than other phosphorus forms for both crops. Strip tillage with powder form uptake the maximum phosphorus than other combination. The third crop T. aman rice is going on with tillering growth.

To observe the effect of tillage practices and phosphorus form on soil properties and to increase the productivity of cropping system.

A field experiments on Gardenpea-Maize-T.Aman rice cropping pattern were conducted in Grey Terrace soil of Joydebpur under AEZ-28. The experiment was started at BARI central research farm during rabi season in 2018-2019.The physical and chemical properties of experimental soil were recorded. The tillage operations such as strip tillage with VMP (versatile multi-crop Planter) and conventional tillage with power tiller were employed in combination with 3 form of phosphorus such as granular form (basal) (P1), powder form (basal) (P2) and granular form (split) (P3). Thus 6 treatment combinations were arranged in split plot design with three replications. The plot size was 4.8 m × 2.4 m. The tested varieties were BARI Motorshuti-3 and BARI hybrid Maize-7 for pea and maize, respectively. The crops were fertilized with soil test based (STB) fertilizer dose as per FRG-2012. The fertilizer doses of were N54 P15 K29 S9Zn1.3B0.3 kg ha-1 and N202 P31 K81 S31Zn2.5B0.7 kg ha-1 for gardenpea and maize, respectively. Gardenpea was sown on 15 December, 2018 and crop harvested on 11 February, 2019. Maize seed was sown on 07 March, 2019 and crop harvested on 26 May, 2019. For gargenpea, all MoP, gypsum and Zinc sulphate and boric acid were applied during final land preparation. Urea was applied in two equal splits at seedling establishment stage (7 Days after emergence), and rest amount was applied 35 DAS. 100% TSP was applied as granular form (P1) and as powder form (P2) and 80% as granular form (P3) during final land preparation. Rest 20% TSP for P3 as granular form was applied 20 DAS. For maize, all MoP, gypsum, zinc sulphate and boric acid were applied during final land preparation. Urea was applied in three equal splits at 15 DAS, 35 DAS and 55 DAS. 100% TSP was applied as granular form (P1) and as powder form (P2) and 80% as granular form (P3) during final land preparation. Rest 20% TSP for P3 as granular form was applied 20 DAS. All intercultural operations were done as per requirement of the crop. The collected soil samples were dried at room temperature mixed thoroughly, grinded, sieved with a 2 mm sieve and preserved in plastic containers for subsequent laboratory analysis. Soil samples were then analyzed for SOM, Total N and P. The SOM was determined by wet oxidation (Jackson, 1973), Total N by a modified Kjeldahl method (Page et al., 1989) and total P by using the SnCl2 reduction method. pH was determined through glass electrode pH meter method K and S were determined through NH4OAC method and turbidimetric method, respectively. Micronutrients were analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Particle size distribution of the initial soil was analysed by the hydrometer method and the textural class was determined using the USDA texture triangle. The BD of the soil samples were determined by core sampler and pycnometer method. Moisture content was determined by gravimetric method. Field capacity was done though pressure plate method. All relevant data were collected and were analyzed statistically following Statistics 10 program.

Strip tillage gave better yield than conventional tillage for gardenpea but vice-versa for maize. Powder form gave the best yield than other forms where split (granular) form gave the lowest yield for both crops. Strip tillage with powder form uptake the maximum phosphorus than other combination.
