An experiment was conducted on five years old nine jamun germplasm at minor fruit block of Hill Agricultural Research Station, Raikhali, Rangamati Hill District during 2018-19. Maximum fruit length (2.79 cm) and breadth (2.26) were found in SC Rai-010 and SC Rai-008, respectively. Maximum individual fruit weight (8.8 g), yield per plant (58.7 kg) and flesh thickness (0.82 mm) were also observed in SC Rai-008. Maximum edible portion (86.0%) was found in SC Rai-010 and maximum TSS (14.0 %) was recorded in SC Rai-009. Fruits of all the germplasm  were black in color, oblong in shape with flat fruit apex. Organoleptic test of SC Rai-008 and SC Rai-009 were very well in taste.

For the evaluation of superior jamun in hilly area.

The experiment was conducted on nine jamun germplasm at minor fruits block of Hill Agricultural Research Station, Raikhali, Rangamati Hill District during 2018-19 for the evaluation of jamun in hilly area. Nine grafted jamun germplasm viz., SC Rai-004, SC Rai-008, SC Rai-009, SC Rai-010,SC Rai-011, SC Rai-012, SC Rai-013, SC Rai-014, and SC Rai-015 were planted in 2013 maintaining spacing 8 m × 8 m. Soil was fertilized with well decomposed cowdung @ 15 kg/plant, 230g N, 185 g P2O5 and 240g K2O per plant per year. NPK were applied in the form of Urea, TSP and MOP, respectively in two equal installments in a year, the first during October and the second during May. Intercultural operations like irrigation, weeding etc. were done as per necessary. Data on plant growth yield and yield contributing characters were taken timely.

Based on fruit size, individual fruit weight, flesh thickness, edible portion, TSS (%), organoleptic test and fruit yield germplasm SC Rai-008 and SC Rai-009 was supposed to be superior and might be released as variety in Bangladesh for commercial cultivation.
